Lovely Words

There are always flowers for those who want to see them.
— —Henri Matisse

Hello dear friend,

We had another snowfall this week, and I’ve officially started my petunia seeds—236 tiny seeds, to be exact, as that’s how many I could fit under my grow lights.

They’re tucked away in a cozy corner of a basement bedroom, safely behind a closed door. Last year, our sweet Maggie—the innocent one pictured below—discovered my precious trays and had quite a party in the soil. It looked as though a bomb had gone off! Thankfully, she didn’t destroy all of them, and I still had a wonderful crop of blooms.

I’m already looking ahead to 8 or 10 weeks from now, when I’ll be tucking those lovelies into the garden and likely filling every nook and cranny of our yard with pink and purple blooms. I'll keep you posted!

As I’ve been dreaming of flowers lately, I’ve also felt a renewed longing to return to photographing them up close — capturing their delicate beauty and turning them into art.

It’s a process I can easily get lost in, as each image takes time to feel just right, like any creative endeavor.

If you’d like to take a peek, I’ve started gathering a small collection on my home page (just scroll down to the bottom of the page).

I hope these simple Quiet Notes offer you a little pause from the noise and help to fill your cup today.

Thank you for being here.

Blessings to you, ♡
